I’m going to share with you some tips to help your business has it’s place on social media. Keep reading if you are interested to know about how to get social media presence.
Objectives
Don’t be on social media just to be there or just because everyone else is there. To make it work, you need to think about how it can help you reach your goals. Create a calendar with all your plans for the month and test your strategy. You should be constantly checking your strategy based on performance metrics. Analyze things like number of clicks per post, the reach of your social media campaigns, the number of page visits resulting and then adjust your strategy based on those data. It’s good to have a look at what your competitors are doing. Of course, don’t copy what they are doing, it’s for you to have an idea of what you should do.
Choose right platforms
Each social media has its own characteristics and not all of them will be the right one for your business. It doesn’t mean you cannot have a profile on all social media platforms, you could have account on all social media but focusing your effort on the main channels. Then, you have to use each social channel according to its strengths.
Know your target
One of the most important thing to start your social media activities is knowing your audience. You need to know things like age, gender, location, interests and etc. For you to collect data you can use social media analytics, surveys, focus groups, customer interviews, Google analytics on you website and any other possible way you have.
Social Media to sell and to promote
Using social media for promotion isn’t as easy as simply posting your products or tweeting about your brand every once in a while or using paid ads. You need a strategy in place to optimize your results.
Think as you were your own customer, would you like to see just post about products all the time on your time line? I don’t think so, so it’s nice to have content about your customers instead. For example: curiosities, answers to their doubts, engaging with them and sharing relevant content that they will find valuable. Your social content across all your channels should be no more than 20 percent promotional.
Images
Use images on your posts mostly of the time, it’s what caught people’s attention and of course, don’t forget to post relevant images, videos and gifts to your audience and content.
Monitoring and answering
Contact through social media is an alternative for the face-to-face conversation or even phone calls. It’s important to invest your attention to reply customers within 24 hours or mostly likely your audience will lose interest in your brand and that is not good at all.
Social media engagement also offers an opportunity for you to demonstrate your brand’s unique personality. You can reply with a bit of humor, don’t need to be methodical to answer. Show that it has a person behind the screen and not a robot.
Following those tips and doing it right, you are going to have a great improvement on your social media engagement which will lead into sales. However, social media is not magic so it will take a few months before you start to see the actually results.
